Sr. Web Developer, Drupal

Major League Soccer’s Digital team is looking for a great Senior Drupal developer to help us shape the next generation digital experience for soccer fans around the world. We need someone with the ability to take a lead role on architecting and implementing large Drupal builds to power the next generation of our digital publishing platform. As one of the senior members on the team, you will help lead and mentor other team members while making core architectural and feature decisions. If this sounds like you, we would love to talk!

Web Developer, Drupal

Developer, Operations

Major League Soccer’s Digital team is looking for great a mid-to-senior level operations developer to help us shape the next generation digital experience for soccer fans around the world. We want your expertise to help us make our platform faster, more automated, geographically fault tolerant, and easier to scale out. You will get to work with bare metal servers and cloud infrastructure across multiple datacenters with a focus on automation and configuration management. Please convince us that your great in any way that best represents you. That being said, we imagine as our new Operations Developer, you would:

  • Be passionate about software development and web technologies.
  • Know languages and technologies at all levels of our application stack.
  • Expert level development skill with least one server-side language (e.g. PHP, Python, Ruby, C#, JavaScript, Go, Java).

  • Extensive experience working with AWS, OpenStack, or other advanced cloud platform as well as bare metal servers.

  • Be an expert with Apache, Linux, and MySQ, Varnish, memcache, nginx, and content distribution networks.
  • Love unit testing and other forms of automated testing.
  • Get excited about infrastructure automation frameworks (Salt, Chef, Puppet, or similar).
  • Have helped build a system that scaled to tens of thousands of concurrent users.
  • Be comfortable implementing and maintaining bug tracking, continuous integration, and other productivity enhancement software.
  • Know and understand database clustering (NoSQL and SQL).

UX Designer

MLS Digital is looking for an experienced UX designer to join our development team. We are responsible for creating and operating twenty separate web properties (MLSsoccer.com and nineteen club sites), a real-time second screen match experience, a growing set of APIs, and the infrastructure that powers it all. Our mission is to make MLSsoccer.com and our club properties the best digital sports experience in the world. We are a small, but growing team, made up mostly of developers. With new products launching later this year, we have started to place a greater focus on the quality of the experiences we create. As our first full-time designer, you will have a major impact on the success of our products and will set the design direction of the team.

Some of the work you will get to dig into immediately:

  • Help create MLSsoccer.com’s design language for use across all of our web, mobile web, and mobile app interfaces.
  • Help us realize our goal of making Golazo (our new match experience) the best second screen experience in sports by creating unique, responsive designs that take advantage of the real-time nature of the product.
  • Lead the design process on a new web property the team is currently building.
  • Prototype and iterate on new features for the league and club properties.
